What the app delivers
Everything below is live in the staff desktop app — not a roadmap wishlist.

Appointments & scheduling
- Weekly doctor duty hours, slot length, and max patients — with leave and extra-clinic exceptions
- Open vs booked slots per doctor/day; past slots greyed; walk-in takes the current slot
- Staff book any future date; walk-in flag; consult type (new / follow-up / procedure); optional reason
- No double-booking of an active slot — a database exclusion constraint, not just a UI check
- Token number issued at booking; lifecycle Requested → Confirmed → CheckedIn → InConsult → Completed
- Approval-required booking: patient requests are soft holds until staff approve or reject

Patient records & history
- Register: full name, phone (de-duplicated), optional CNIC, gender, DOB, address
- Auto-generated MRN (e.g. T-000847)
- Search by name, phone, MRN, or CNIC
- Doctor-linked visit timeline: complaint, notes, ICD-10, prescription, follow-up
- Reception & admin see any patient; doctors see only their own patients

Consultation notes
- One consult record per visit: chief complaint, clinical notes, ICD-10 codes, prescription, follow-up date
- Save record, or save & complete the visit in one step
- Previous visit history shown beside the form
- Written only by the treating doctor; readable by admin & reception for history

Payments & receipts
- Invoice a confirmed visit at the snapshotted rate; optional discount (with a required reason)
- Record payment by cash / card / wallet / bank — desk-recorded methods, not a payment gateway
- Partial vs paid; printable branded PDF receipt
- Cancel & refund minus a configurable cancellation fee; no-show forfeits 100%

Finance & reporting
- Owner dashboard: today's patients, appointments, cash gross vs net, department load, recent visits
- Finance: gross collected, commissions payable, net — per doctor and department, with CSV export
- Analytics: appointments per day, top doctors, status breakdown
- Per-doctor earnings: commission and patients attended only (never hospital totals)

Access & security
- Role-based access on every route — deny by default; doctors scoped to their own patients & earnings
- Sensitive actions are audit-logged (actor, action, before/after)
- Authenticator (TOTP) MFA for admin & reception
- Money math runs only on the server
- No SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, or WCAG certification claimed — ask what's in place today
